To-do Lists App Reviews

DOES NOT WORK!

The lists would not sync between my Mac and iPhone, so I contacted support. The creator’s response speaks for itself: Hi, thank you for contacting us. Actually we use old, currently deprecated, iCal API to access Reminders, so it is not guaranteed to work for all calendars. I.e. it works but we do not have any way to fix or improve if something goes wrong. Also currently we are working on To-do Lists 2.0, which will use new EventKit API, and will work much better on syncing then To-do Lists 1.x

simple, to the point, and works on a variety of OSX versions

Simple is better. Your to-do list, available and portable between computers. Value priced! So what else is there to talk about?

Deleted Everything

I created and organized all my lists, was super excited being a list person. And the second time I go to use it, all my lists were deleted and I can’t get them back. Disappointed and still can not find a remedy.

Very good organizer across 3 devices

I have To-Do Lists on all 3 of my devices: iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. I use it primarily on my phone and computer. The latter is easier to edit items and the former is in my hands most of the day. One, I love that I have a portable, editable list of to do items - it’s helps me keep organized and on top of things. Two, I love the fact that I can make up different lists for different needs and tasks. Three, I love the simplicity and ease of use of To-Do Lists. Four, I love the ability to use it on 3 different devices and synchronize across all 3. I highly recommend this app and use it every day in my work as a sales manager. Things that I would like to see changed that would make this an excellent app: better synchronization, better editing features, and greater stability. For now, if the computer is on, the computer version overwrites any edits made on the other devices and handheld work tends to get lost. Better text editing tools would also help: bold, underline, text colors. And finally, on the smaller devices better stability: I have had the app quit a number of times while in the middle of adding items and subsequently lost those new items.

Proves less is more

I have other “To Do” programs which are great however to have a quick scratch-pad and a place to put all you “next” items this can’t be beat. While it’s not to say that this doesn’t actually have a fair bit of capability, the simplicity of the design makes it a joy to work with. In particular I find it’s a great way to manage the stuff I need to do today and keep it in front of me. The Dropbox sync also makes me feel secure that nothing is lost. Great to do list - does what you need without the usual hoops to do them.

Better than paper notes!

exactly what i wanted.

Heaven

I cant believe how many to-do manager widgets and do-dads Ive tried. This one is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. Simple lists, with VERY few clicks/motions to add/remove/reorder different lists, and clever ways to color things, set-reminders, and - what I like most - instant always-available access on the Mac from the menu-bar area at the top of the screen. Syncs between my iPhone and Mac (using Dropbox) like a gem. Heres the KEY to pulling that off with ease, however (Ive read that others either couldnt make it work, or had to do several things to finally make it work). I would suggest the following: first, install the iPhone version (be sure to also already have Dropbox on your phone - account activated, etc.). Go to General Settings, and select "synch with Dropbox". This will create a folder (automatically) in your Dropbox called "ToDoLists", and stick a file in there. Next, set-up this app on your Mac, and go to Preferences/General Settings. From there, choose this "folder" to sync with. If you dont do it in this order, it might confuse you and create two different files that dont sync with each other. Again, get Dropbox set up first on both devices (iPhone and Mac).

Simple to Use, Syncs via Dropbox

I wanted an affordable, simple to use To-Do list that synced with my iPhone via Dropbox. All the other To-do list apps I was looking at synced via their own server. Im tired of having my data spread across everyone elses servers. Ive chosen Dropbox as my personal "cloud", and was thrilled to see this app would let me sync via Dropbox. The app is very easy to use and syncs seamlessly with my iPhone (via DB). Note, I also bought "To-do lists mobile", which is necessary for using the synced to-do lists on your iPhone. Its another great app.

JUST BOUGHT! wrote VI list - APP WONT OPEN!!!

THIS APP DOESNT WORK ON MY BRAND NEW MAC! BOUGHT 4 days ago and consolidated everything I onto one list to print out. The app wont reopen and I have lost the master to do list for 6 months. So sad and so frustrated. Support through the email how about a phone number? So bummed

To-do lists

"loading a file from backup will delete all you current lists". And thats exactly what it does.

Not worth the $$$

I purchased this so I could seamlessly have a to do list on my Macbook Air, iPhone, and iPad. It is not set up to work that way - does not sync through iCloud - you are guided to use dropbox as a way to sync and after several attempts and having my partner try as well it would not sync. Waste of money. While watching a tutorial on the help site a tutorial for Wunderlist ran - a FREE app that actually WORKS!!!

Remove the trashcan icon

I dont see the point of that trashcan in the bottom left corner, it takes up quite a bit of space and makes short lists look ugly, it would be nice to be able to hide it. Otherwise its a great app

Bad flaw ruins the app

I would love this app. It is simple and allows multiple to do lists to be plastered all over my screen. However, they employ an auto spell correct that you cannot turn off. I tend to quickly enter to do items with a lot of abbreviations, and the auto correct turns them into gibberish that I cannot decipher lated. Such a shame.

Doesnt work with Spaces

Im sorry--if this was a few years ago, I wouldnt be so negative with my review. However, this is 2013, and this app does NOT work in different spaces. If you click on the menu bar icon, it moves you to the space where you first had it open. It jolts my workflow to be suddenly thrown into a different space. There is no excuse for this.

Perfect to-do list if you want simplicity and ease of use

I have tried nearly every to-do list available for the Mac. While many of them are very good apps, they tend to be too feature-heavy to be convenient and easy to use. This app is perfect if you want to keep your lists handy and you want a clean, intuitive interface. Ive built a nice and easy Kanban board on my desktop using multiple lists. Its easy to drag list items from one list to another or within the same list, to add list items and so on. I also have the iPhone app and the sync between desktop and mobile is quick and quiet using Dropbox.

Brilliant - Search is Over

Ive been searching for a to-do app or addition to iCal for several weeks. This seems to do everything I had on my wish list - and more. Its particularly brilliant that the first to-do list you see when you acquire this app is a to-do tutorial that walks you through all the basics, step by step. Good going! The sole issue I have so far is that the reminder window is too tiny to read without putting my nose on the screen.

Exactly what I wanted, and more

Its deceiving how helpful this little app is. I have found many uses for it. Once I started using it and experimenting with its features and functions, I realized it was what I always wanted a To-do list to do, and much more. Now I find it completely indispensable. Please dont muck it up with too many bells and whistles.

This app does not work with Maverick

I downloaded this app thinking it would be exactly what I was looking for, as the information listed with the app stated it would sync with iCal. Well, it DOES NOT sync without performing additional steps from another website that support gave me in an email. This app is also not the most current version, which didn’t make any sense to me either. I asked for a refund, and was told they were not able to give refunds as “everything was handled by Apple.” BUYER BEWARE- this app does not perform as stated, NO refund will be given if you are unhappy with the app. If you want to download an app that only half performs as promised, and then need to perform additional steps to make it truly work, then go ahead and download. I will not be downloading any additional apps created by AntLogic, as they do not perform as promised.

To-Do Lists

I have played with a few to-do apps, this one is outstanding in terms of simplicity, design, and hands on understanding of my needs ! It works every time, and is a one stop shop app, in terms of encompassing what I look for, no frills just plain practical creative functionality !

useless for me with Mavericks, too many steps required to open list

Updated to Mavericks from Snow Leopard yesterday. This was a five star app for the last three years but now I hate it. It updated, lost my to-do-list, which is not that bad, I only had one list going. But I am trashing this app because now it does not show the name of my to do list in its menu anymore. Much harder to open an existing list now, takes too many steps. I don’t want to go through multiple menus to open a to-do list !!!!
